Doug McCormick grew up in a small town in South Carolina called Patrick.  He is the oldest of four children and is also the only boy.  While growing up, it was his mother that instilled in him the appreciation and love for country music that he shares with everyone today. As a young boy, Doug quickly fell in love with any instrument he could get his hands on.  When he was 12 years old, Doug received his first guitar from his parents as a Christmas present.  Unable to read sheet music, Doug slowly began to teach himself to play the guitar.  It immediately became a musical love of his that would prove to be more than just a hobby.

When Doug was a 14 years old, he crossed paths with a man named Don Tiller.  Don Tiller was the owner of Silver Star Records out of McBee, South Carolina and wanted to help Doug showcase his talent to the rest of the country music industry.  Mr. Don believed in Doug and it was Mr. Don that made Doug truly believe in himself.  However, Mr. Don was a sick man and passed away as a victim to leukemia two years later.

Doug continued to play music every chance he got. He began playing gigs his senior year in high school to make his own money.  Every Friday and Saturday, you could find him playing his music at local venues and restaurants.  Shug's Smokehouse located in Kellytown, South Carolina is where he first ventured into the money making aspect of the entertainment business.  While Doug had performed in front of thousands before at conventions and other special events, this was his first "paying gig".

After graduating high school, Doug attended Clemson University.  He wanted to go after his dream immediately, however his mom and dad suggested that Doug needed a backup plan, something to fall back on. As parents often are, they were nothing but right.  Doug is currently a student at Clemson University having the time of his life.  He is a proud brother in the Alpha Gamma Rho national fraternity and maintains a 3.0 GPA to keep his scholarships.

None the less, you can still find Doug doing what he loves.  Playing about 75-100 shows a year, He has opened for national headliners Luke Bryan, Elizabeth Cook, Dale Watson and Show Dog Records recording artists, Flynnville Train.  Doug has also tried out for USA's hit television show, Nashville star.  In the competition, Doug made the callbacks, but did not make it to the show.  Doug recently completed his self titled debut CD and we are proud to announce that sales are going great!  With strong influences from artists such as Garth Brooks, Keith Whitley, and George Strait, Doug  hasworked with producer Ken Rivers with Riverglo productions out of Cheraw, SC to capture a unique hybrid of today's country music and traditional country.

After graduation of college, Doug plans to hit the music industry running full force.  However, in the time being Doug continues doing what he has been doing, enjoying music and entertaining people across the South East.  Either with his newly united band, Stageline or playing at local bar by himself, music is still his love and his dream.

After graduating college, Doug plans to move to Nashville and give it his best shot.  If you have ever seen Doug perform live, you know he loves to entertain a crowd.  He dreams to entertain thousands one day with his talent and love for music.  Keep a look out for shows near you.  Come out, see us and you are sure to enjoy the show.  While you're there, be sure to say hello to his biggest fans.  Doug has always said his biggest fans are his family, especially his mom. They go everywhere he does. He has three younger sisters, Christy, Joy, and Dani.  His parents also support him in any way they can.  In fact, you can see them switching from driver, to roadie, to sound technician at nearly every gig.  We look forward to seeing you!
